Update-o-rama
The four-month appointment stats... he's not as heavy as we thought! I guess Rick and I are just wusses.
Weight: 17 lbs 15 oz (95th percentile)
Height: 27.25 inches (97th percentile)
Head circumference: 44 cm (91st percentile)
Although he's not as much of a porker as we had predicted, he is still a tall, tall boy. Bottom line, big kid, but proportional and healthy and shiny. He got mad and cried when the doctor put him through his paces ("Excuse me, doctor sir, but tummy time is done on a colorful, musical mat with all of my toys, not this stupid paper-covered table!), but then Dad grabbed him and had him "walk" for the doctor, which made Ruary giggle and impressed the doctor.
The second round of vaccinations proved to be as traumatic for Mom as the last, but not so much for Ruary who was given a meal right after he got stuck. That helped calm him down. He is a bit sleepier than normal now, but otherwise doing fine. We're going to hit the first track meet of the season this afternoon when he wakes up, which will be his school debut (outdoors where the nasty school germs can't light upon him).

Our doctors must be using different charts - or they're lying to me to make me feel better about Charles chunk: at 19 lbs and 4 months, I, too, was told he was in the 95th percentile.

Our doctor's percentiles match up with the chart in the "What to Expect in the First Year" book... I'm not sure what chart your doc is using.
But hey, remember that some docs feel that percentiles are BS, as someone said... so no big deal. Still, it's fun to compare.
